Their creativity and unique combination of skills help them penetrate deeper and deeper into the bizarre, absurd world of Silicon Valley.
An accidental meeting of three people in a pub on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood sparks a chain of events that none of them would have imagined just a few days before.
Lucy, an actress, Willis, a cinematographer, and Martin, a film director, discover they've each had a horrendous day that shatters their illusions of making it in Hollywood. Their dreams of creating films are still intact, but they realize they must take a detour away from Los Angeles to save those dreams.
They devise a plan to try their luck making promo videos for the ingenious and quirky characters of tech's tinseltown—Silicon Valley.
The filmmakers head to San Francisco to start their company in a garage provided by the actress' grandmother, Margaret, a quirky hippie who owns a Victorian boarding house in the City.
Lucy, Willis and Martin have settled down in San Francisco with Margaret's support.
They are getting to know each other better and are more comfortable revealing details about their past, and sharing their ideas and feelings.
They realize that Hollywood and Silicon Valley are not so different after all. Both places revere the young and talented, and require networking or knowing someone to break into the local industry.
Can their video startup G Studio—and their dreams of success—survive in this ever-changing and highly competitive environment?
Creating and Writing Promo
During the book’s creation and writing, we drank gallons of the black, caffeine-infused liquid that helped us reach the best part of ourselves and put it on paper. And to make our writing extra-special, we chose single-origin coffees prepared in an espresso machine.
So, find a nice coffee shop, get a cup of joe with your choice of coffee-bean quality, and download our eBook from Amazon.com. While sipping your java, read a couple of episodes from Promo: Season One and Promo: Season Two. You may experience something similar to reverse engineering of our creative process. We guarantee you will want to read more episodes, and drink more coffee ...
